With fall coming in full swing, us students will have less and less to do, being limited to the movies and music that we can entertain ourselves with through the long winter days. Although the release of new music has slowed down quite a bit, it does not outshine some noticeable songs taking over our radios this season. Post Malone’s third studio album titled “Hollywood’s Bleeding” was recently released after much anticipation, while Lizzo’s album “Cuz I Love You” was released a while back in April, but has recently gained it’s well-deserved fame.
Even if you have never heard of Lizzo, you have almost definitely heard her music. Her chart topping singles “Juice”, “Good As Hell”, and a radio favorite, “Truth Hurts”, have caught worldwide attention for their positive messages and infectious beat. They’ve been played on all streaming platforms, as well as movies, commercials, and social media. Surprisingly, some of these singles have been out for as long as 3 years, but have recently gained traction for the use of Truth Hurts in the Netflix movie “Something Great”. This ultimately led to Lizzo’s quick rise to fame. Since her discovery, she has used her platform and her music to empower and advocate for black and plus-sized women. By being unapologetically herself, Lizzo has sent the world an important reminder that the true key to happiness is to embrace yourself for who you are, no matter what ethnicity, size, race, or orientation. These messages have led to her joining the likes of Rihanna and Beyonce, as one of the few black women who have topped the Billboard charts in the past decade.
Post Malone is out with his new and anticipated 3rd album “Hollywood’s Bleeding” with multiple well known features such as DaBaby, Young Thug, Halsey, Ozzy Osbourne, Future, SZA, Meek Mill, and Lil Baby.
This album has a fusion of different genres coming together to create a unique album that fits Post Malone’s style of music.
Notably on this album, singles “Enemies”, “Circles”, “Goodbyes”, and “Wow” have had success on the Billboard U.S Top 100, making it to the top 10 at least once. Another notable song on this album is the well known single “Sunflower” with Swae Lee which reached number one on the Billboard Top 100. This album has been a commercial success for Malone, as he doesn’t skip a beat with his music or his musical abilities. It was surprisingly good to see how Post Malone can bring the musical talent of Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott together to make a new fusion of two different genres work. Overall, Post Malone made another great album! These two artists have undoubtedly made their mark on the world through their music. Their skillful use of their genres, beat, and lyrics have earned them numerous awards, success, and fans all throughout the world. The undeniable talents that they display will only continue to propel them towards further fame, so if you haven’t checked them out yet, what are you waiting for?
