Welcome Fall!

By Valerie Padilla

The Fall season is underway and rapidly approaching, while the weather continues to stay at jaw-dropping temperatures ranging from 90 to 110 degrees, fall-themed scents, movies, and holidays are all starting to slowly appear from their seasonal slumber! If you are wondering what you should do to prepare for this beautiful season, here are some fun activities plus movie recommendations to officially welcome the Fall!

Candle smelling and shopping!

  • Fall scents have made their comeback! Now as you walk through the aisles of your favorite store you are greeted with the sweet smells of cinnamon, pumpkin, and other signature fall scents that appear with the season every year. If you are fond of candles, hunting down the best scent for your house or room can be quite difficult but fun! Take the time to look for your favorite scents and give us that candle haul!

Baking

  • Baking fall treats can be extremely fun especially if you can do it with loved ones or close friends! The signature treats that are found during the fall season could include Caramel Apple pie, Pumpkin bread, Coffee Cake, and many other enjoyable desserts! With a quick search, you can find a plethora of easy baking recipes that you can do with others or alone to welcome this cozy season. Don't be afraid to make this a new hobby that you can invest in.

Shopping for the weather or Fall Thrifting!

  • Even though the temperatures have stayed between hot and sweltering you should still be catching those sales and deals for sweater weather. Going shopping specifically for cozy and comfortable clothes that you can pull out once the temperature reaches below 70 can be another fun activity, (you can begin the cozy socks, sweaters, and blankets collection you have always wanted.) While you're at it don’t forget to look at the possible fall trinkets at your favorite thrift store you could use as cute decor!

Pumpkin patch, Apple Picking, Fall picnic, and more!

  • Lancaster can seem like quite the mundane place however there are still many fall-themed things you could do! For example, you could go to a pumpkin patch and find the cool weather comforting or go apple picking, and bake a pie right after. You could even get lost in a huge cornfield maze! Having a fall-themed picnic with your favorite people is also a fantastic way to welcome this wonderful season. Plus, learning how to knit yourself a cozy blanket can be a good way to spend your time this autumn.

And Lastly a Fall movie list!

  • Fall is also accompanied by wonderful movies that would be great to watch while wrapped up in your favorite blanket, eating your favorite dessert, and smelling the sweet scent of your best candle! So, to finish off this list here are some fall-themed movie recommendations I have acquired from others!

  • Halloween Town

  • Monster House

  • Coraline

  • Knives Out

  • Matilda

  • Sleepy Hollow

  • Edward Scissorhands

And finally, Nightmare on Elm Street!
