With every unique person, there is an even more unique family to follow. Every family celebrates this wonderful holiday in their special way. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or go to see the Gavel Goat, December is such an exciting holiday with so much to offer. It also has many wonderful and delicious foods and sweets for everyone to enjoy.
When you think of Christmas foods all you can probably think about are all the sweets. Every Christmas some people make cookies for Santa to enjoy. Maybe you even like some delicious gingerbread cookies. There's a variety of things relating to gingerbread. You can make gingerbread houses, gingerbread trifles, and banana gingerbread. The possibilities are endless.
We all enjoy candy canes and sweets but have you ever really thought about what the traditional dinner you eat for Christmas is? I know my family makes dozens of tamales to the point we eat them till next Christmas. Recently we even started adding a ham as a side. We usually eat a bunch of appetizers and sweets while waiting for dinner to be done at 10 pm.
Not everyone eats tamales, one student Anita Chizmichyan enjoys something other than cultural delicacies. “We mainly eat turkey and barbecue like ribs, pork, and steak”. I'm sure that you all have delicious Christmas dinners and I hope that you enjoy that winter break that we all look forward to. I know I'm gonna be eating many tamales for the rest of the year.
