Peppermint and cinnamon aren't the only things in the air. It's the season of giving. The AVTA has decided to do their giving to bring joy to as many children as possible. Starting in Lancaster they hope to spread across the entire Antelope Valley.
The AVTA Toy Drive began on November 22nd and ended on December 11th. It's their annual event where they collect a bunch of clothing and toys so many children from newborn to barely and adults are bound to enjoy. They have been providing spirit to the AV community for more than 29 years. Isn’t that amazing?
The crazy thing is they fill a 40-foot bus! That's a 4 story building! Just imagine how many things that bus can hold. Many businesses all over have contributed almost $35,000. Residents of the community also contribute by going to local contributors like Walmart where you can drop off some donations for the bus. One student Leah Rebekah Maquindang loves this idea, “It’s a cute idea it was at the Blvd and Walmart”.
Anyone can show up and get some stuff from the bus. No sign up is needed to show up and enjoy the holiday fun. You can even get some Christmas meal supplies to enjoy with your family. Everyone is invited and I hope you enjoy this holiday season and even consider giving back to the wonderful community.
