Eating healthier, working out, or going to bed early might be some New Year resolutions that people made this year to become the best version of themselves. New Year's resolutions are made when people want to be better or do things that benefit them which they didn’t do the year before. When trying to come up with a New Year's resolution you should think of them about a week before New Year's Eve so that you can apply them on January 1st.
New Year’s resolutions also give you a chance to reflect on your past actions, choices, and decisions so that you can realize what you should keep, or what to remove or change to make the new year run smoothly. You have to be eager and dedicated for your New Year's resolutions to actually work and have an effect on your life for the better.
Take what Cielo Corona Castro, for example, when she stated, , “I haven’t made any New Year's resolutions this year.” I also interviewed another student here at Soar which was Aliya Loma and she also said, “I haven’t really thought about making any New Year resolutions.” I wasn’t expecting both of them to say that they didn’t have any New Year's resolutions. This surprised me. Although I asked two people who didn’t have any New Year resolutions, I asked a student here at SOAR and they said that their New Year resolution is to turn in all of their assignments on time and with eating healthier and working out more.
In my personal experience, I believe that setting New Year's resolutions can help make the year the best it can be. I also think that having goals can keep you motivated.
