Mastering focus for semester success

To make this semester better and end the school year well, here are a few things to try that will get you to success. You might feel the pressure to end the school year off strong, but these tips can help make it less stressful.

The first tip that might help is to ask for help or assistance if needed. It might feel like you are failing if you need to ask for help but everyone needs assistance even if you're doing well in the class. Go to your teachers’ tutoring hours or ask your teachers for help during the time that you are in that class.

The next tip that can help is that you should set goals for yourself. They can be goals as big as a certain GPA that you want to achieve by the end of the semester or smaller goals such as passing your exam. Setting goals can help you to work harder in order to achieve them.

Another tip that can also help is that you can break assignments that are hard into manageable chunks. An example of this would be that you have a big project due so you make a plan that you accomplish a certain amount of work per day to make it less stressful and more manageable.

The last tip that I have that can make your semester successful is to get your homework done as soon as you get it. When you get an assignment in class, it is tempting to say you're going to do it at home and just talk with your friends the whole class or go on your phone. Procrastinating work until it’s due can be stressful especially since you are going to then have even more work from other classes.

After interviewing a student here at SOARthey said that a tip they can give that can help make this semester better is to actually get your homework done on time and to study for tests.
