A festival about music where a community can get together and dance the night away, Camp Flognaw is a festival thrown by Tyler the Creator. This festival has been going on for 8 years with regulars like the Internet and Earl Sweatshirt and guest stars like Drake and Cuco. The festival usually carries around 40,000 people and this year didn’t differ. This year the festival was thrown on November 9-10, 2019 with performers like Solange, Tyler the Creator, YG, Drake, and more. These artists are very important to a lot of people. Solange knowles is Beyonce’s sister and sings like a goddess, Tyler threw the festival and played some of his big hits, and YG is a big personality in rap. Their energy created an unmatched sense of community and happiness. The smell of the carnival food wafted through the air and screams filled the crowd as they cheered and screamed the lyrics to their favorite songs.
In addition to all these legendary performers, this year had a very anticipated surprise guest who was rumored to be Frank Ocean but turned out to be something completely different. People were disappointed but weren’t that angry. Rumors were spread around twitter and there’s no clear origin of these rumors. Tyler entered the stage and announced that he was going to bring multiple friends which were ASAP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and Drake. These artists were highly anticipated and created a big and wonderful energy amongst the crowd. People moshed, their bodies swaying and punching against each other in the crowd. This year was very interesting and definitely had it's surprises with artists that are usually very expensive. This year was definitely interesting and I can’t wait to attend next year. Was it worth it? Yes. And do I recommend attending? Yes. The energy is unmatched and the sense of community fills Dodger Stadium with love. Hopefully we’ll see you next year!
