On October 24, SOAR’s Journalism hosted their annual Haunted House, one of the scariest days in SOAR history! The 24-25 Year Spookfest was a major hit with around 100 people buying presale tickets and more than 50 people lining up to buy tickets at the door. Talk about a major event! Don’t think the club hall was lacking either. After all, with so many clubs selling sweet treats, who wouldn’t buy them?
Savanna Ramirez, a SOAR High School Junior recapped her haunted experience. “I went through the Haunted House and I was amazed at how creative the scare actors were. The costumes they wore were fun and this was definitely 10 times better than the last time I went!” The Haunted House started with a jumpscare and more frights followed. If you didn’t go this year, you missed out on the unforgettable experience of being spooked.
Right next to the Haunted House, the clubs were booming. With Hispanic Heritage Club selling Hot Cheetos with Cheese, Black Student Union selling Hot Cocoa, National Honor Society selling shaved ice, and more clubs selling various snacks! Poetic Justice kicked off the spooky games with their “Spin It To Win It” and boy were people loving it! CSF struck gold with their slime table but in all, there was something for everyone. Marym Habib, A SOAR High School senior, expressed, “It was super fun getting to see how the different clubs added a halloween-y twist on on everyday goodies. That's what made them so much better!” This year definitely performed higher than anyone expected and they were loving it.
Left and right, praises for this year's Haunted House were being shouted out. Between the scares that led a line to be formed and the delicacies that left people coming back for more, this year was truly one for the history books.
