Films have never been better in 2023 with the new releases that have been confirmed for this year. With sequels to returning favorites, new films made fun of and hyped up for, and finally returning stars, it's hard to not be excited for at least one of these films. Here's a list of some movies that should be on your watchlist this year.
Does action fit your fancy? Good news for you then as we have sequels along with a return of a fan-favorite star. Mission: Impossible is receiving another sequel that is bound to be explosive and rife with awesome stunts coming out July 14th, 2023. Along with this, we are getting more of our favorite down-to-earth star, Keanu Reeves, in another John Wick film coming out on March 24th, 2023. Finally, expect to see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, featuring our returning star Harrison Ford coming out June 30th, 2023.
If you are looking for fun movies for the family look no further than the following two. The dreaded Chris Pratt movie that is The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be coming out on April 7th, 2023, which is sure to bring fun for the whole family with the wacky animation style. If you are looking for a more aesthetically mindful experience in an animated movie, look no further than the Spiderman film Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, featuring our beloved hero Miles Morales, which is coming out June 2nd, 2023.
Finally here are some good films that you should watch just because the director can be quite reliable with their films. Christopher Nolan is back with his style of films and will show up with a bang this year with the film Oppenheimer, which is the origin story of how the nuclear bomb was created, coming out July 21st, 2023. The final movie we will talk about is the elusive Barbie film directed by Greta Gerwig. Some say it’ll just be wacky hijinks, while others say it’ll be like The Truman Show and go with a more mysterious plot. All anyone knows for sure is that it will be a grand movie for generations to come, coming out on July 21st, 2023.
