Do you like ducks and are also looking for a fun service opportunity? Volunteering at the Antelope Valley Duck Race on September 7th and 8th would be the perfect activity for you. Over the two days, you would be able to help with many different tasks. The event and race will be held at Drytown Water Park in Palmdale. On September 7th, you will be helping clean and tag the ducks that will be used the day of the event. The hours to help will be from 3:30 pm - 6 pm. Food will also be provided to all the volunteers that go. Friday, September 8th, from 5:30 pm-9 pm, will be the hours of the event and volunteer clean up. On the day of the event, there will be various tasks that need to be done.
For example, being the duck mascot, helping announce the ducks about to race, and taking ducks out of the water to prepare for the next race. In addition to helping, volunteers will also be given breaks to get food and enjoy all the water rides. If you decide to help, be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting wet in and also wear the volunteer duck shirt that will be given to you.
We spoke to Maria Galani, who has volunteered at the Duck Race for two years, and she stated, ¨There isn't a dull moment with everything you can do.¨ Volunteering at the Antelope Valley Duck Race will give you a fun experience, while also being able to serve our community!
