COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate in LA County

Updated: Aug 30, 2022

Written by Heidi Martinez

At the beginning of October, Los Angeles county introduced a vaccine mandate to enter many indoor activities, including restaurants, shopping centers, and more. This mandate requires California residents and visitors to show proof of vaccination to enter into businesses. This mandate will be in effect beginning November 4, 2021.

Due to religious freedoms and other rights, people may present businesses with written exemptions for specific reasons. This, however, does not make it permissible to enter these establishments. If someone does not have an exemption and does not present a recent negative COVID test, those customers must use outside facilities. Finally, on November 29, fines will be introduced to businesses that violate the mandates and rules.

Overall, the vaccine mandate is to encourage people to get vaccinated and curve the potential increase of COVID rates in California. Vaccination centers are located all over the state, and most centers do not charge for the vaccines. COVID testing centers are also found all over the state. Don't forget to get vaccinated or consult with a physician to help our community reach herd immunity.
